From Android 4.4 Kitkat and above. Google has restricted third party apps from writing to an external SD card.
This mns that this app can no longer update music on an SD card on Kitkat and above. You can either move your music collection to internal storage OR root your device and change your external storage permissions * Fix your music library, on your phone.

* The android music player only uses 1 album cover per album. Save one file in an album and the music player will show that album cover for all the tracks in the album.
* The missing album cover srch selects the first result, if it is wrong you need to change it manually by clicking on the song.
